Mission Statement
At 42Doors, my mission is to create functional, inclusive, boldly unique products that bring comfort, joy, and individuality to people who don’t fit into traditional molds.
Inspired by life’s challenges, I craft items that reflect authenticity, celebrate creativity, and support meaningful causes, all with a touch of wit and a lot of heart.
This shop exists to open doors to comfort, connection, and belonging.

No. I’m part of the community I design for.
42Doors was built from lived experience, not marketing research. My goal is to make comfort and accessibility feel human, creative, and real, not clinical or inspirational-poster weird.

Personal FAQ
What are your disabilities?
I’m open about my life, but being asked directly about someone’s health is a pretty personal question.
Disability is part of my story, but I share those details in my own time, not as a customer FAQ checklist. Thank you for respecting that boundary.
What do you do for full-time work?
I work part-time with my service dog trainer at Steadfast Dogs, and I run 42Doors alongside that.
Before chronic illness reshaped my life, I worked in many fields, from medical and veterinary roles to trades and small business.
More recently, I also started a part-time job as another female entrepreneur’s assistant, doing exactly the kind of organizing and support work that I very much wish I had an assistant for myself. The irony is not lost on me.
42Doors is where all that experience, creativity, and stubborn resilience landed.
Do you take custom orders?
Sometimes, yes.
It depends on the project, my current workload, and whether I can do your request justice. Feel free to reach out and ask.

What is 42Doors?
42Doors is my passion project turned business, where creativity, functionality, and dark humor meet.
I make things that I (and others like me) actually want: comfort-first fashion, disability-friendly accessories, spicy gifts, plant chaos, and functional oddities.
Life is hard. Your stuff shouldn’t make it harder.
Why is it called 42Doors?
Because 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything (thanks, Douglas Adams).
And doors are about opportunity, access, and finding your own way through.
Is 42Doors a non-profit?
Nope. 42Doors is a small independent business.
A portion of sales supports causes that matter to me, including disability initiatives, Pride community support, and service dog training. Small artists aren’t exactly rolling in piles of cash, but giving back is part of the point.
Why do you donate to specific causes?
Because they matter, and because I know firsthand how hard it is to access real support.
I choose organizations that align with my values and create genuine impact in their communities.

What kind of products do you make?
A little bit of everything, with comfort and personality at the core:

Do you ship internationally?
Not at the moment. Shipping is currently within Canada, but I hope to expand in the future.
What is your return policy?
Because most items are handmade or small-batch, all sales are final.
If something arrives damaged or there’s an issue with your order, please reach out and I’ll do my best to make it right.
Is everything really Canadian?
Most items are handmade by me in Canada, and I prioritize Canadian sourcing whenever possible.
Some older curated inventory was purchased before recent trade disruptions and may be imported. Those items are limited stock and will not be restocked once they’re gone.
